Welcome to Hale Community Support

Hale Community Support operates in a 24 hours model of support, providing services to Australian persons with intellectual and mental health diagnosed people at short & long term accommodation and respite.

The respite homes and permanent accommodation are located in the north-western suburbs of Sydney. Each home has the capacity to cater for three to four clients and always have a spare bedroom for emergency referrals or crisis situations. In 2012, a need arises for the organisation to provide a group home for an individual with disability who was in a crisis situation and had advocated for his own accommodation. As a service provider committed to person-centred planning, we provided a home for the individual and the opportunity to explore his strengths and skills in a supportive and a non-threatening environment. Today, this person with an intellectual disability can now speak more than one language and participate fully in community activities. It is their aspirations that we admire and we strive hard to meet any participant’s needs.

The Organisation’s role provision is to comply with the objects and principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006) and any relevant NSW legislation in place. The Convention emphasises that persons with a disability have the same basic human rights as other members of the Australian society, as well as the right to have their specific needs met regardless of the nature, origin, type or degree of their disability. As Hale drives to sustain and maintain its service standards, we always refer to the principles of the Convention to guide our services in enabling people with a disability to achieve their maximum potential as a community member and providing specialised services that promote:

Hale Community Support as an organisation, has its services evolved around the lives of the people we support either for short or long term because we believe in their strengths as individuals and respect their rights regardless of their race, creed, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. As we believe “......and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." Luke 14:14
